If all tequilas are made from the Blue Weber plant, then why do they all taste so different? John Garrett shares the aspects of why, and also discusses the history of production to help us understand taste variances. From the Rancheros where the Jimadors harvest, to the distilleries where production takes place, this will be an in-depth tasting of tequilas from the Highlands of Jalisco down to the Valley. You’ll enjoy flights of Blanco tequilas – the purest form – and understand what makes each special and different.

Let’s talk about the terroir and –most importantly – the wood management and influence in the whisky. We’re going to have a thorough discussion and taste experience to go with it. Can you see the difference neat in the glass? Can you smell the difference; taste the difference? And how about in an Old Fashioned – can you taste the difference now? Elyse Blechman has an intimate relationship with exceptional spirits: a dedication that has strengthened over a decade of devotion to the Hospitality Industry. It was within this time that she began investigating her passion through the study of Cocktail Culture as a bartender. She has recently retired her tools and shimmied out from behind the bar to embark upon a journey with bold intent to excite, enrich, and educate through the study of benchmark styles & rich traditions behind the world’s greatest drams: particularly the legendary Macallan. Elyse proudly represents The Edrington group as an Ambassador of The Macallan Whisky.
